Timber mulch, Woodchips, and Pine Bark have traditionally been the Garden mulch of choice over the years. The range available in terms of colour, size and shape is vast.  

 

Whether it is a natural pine bark or recycled timber dyed in a variety of colours the main objectives of laying a cover over a garden bed are as follows.

  • To help in the retention of moisture in the soil
  • To prevent and control the growth of weeds
  • To add organic matter to the soil over time
  • To enhance the appearance of gardens with contrasting colours
  • To help maintain and avoid fluctuations in the temperature of the soil
  • To highlight special features in the garden

PINE MULCH  

Produced from the Pine tree it has been `hammer milled` to a blend of long, stringy pieces of bark, pulp and fines. It is  Brown in colour and extremely wind resistant when compacted over time.  With its natural look it is perfect  for  bush type settings and in Ferneries.


PINE BARK 10 – 12mm  

Produced from the bark of the Pine tree it is Brown in colour and graded in size from fines to approx. 12mm. Will have a small percentage of timber pulp through it as well.  Ideally suited to Cottage type gardens and more formally structured layouts.


PINE BARK 20MM  

Produced from the bark of the Pine tree it is Brown in colour and graded in size at approx. 20mm. Will have a small percentage of timber pulp through it as well. With its neat appearance, will be suited to more formal gardens.


SOFT FALL MULCH  

Straw coloured mulch which is produced primarily for use as a layer under and around playground equipment to minimise any impact. Commonly used by Kindergartens, Pre – School centres, Primary Schools and in  home play grounds. Soft fall mulch can also be used on garden beds as a typical mulch for weed suppression and moisture retention.


RIVER RED FINE  

Recycled timber mulched to a fine elongated size of approx. 3 – 6 mm thick and 30 mm long with a percentage of fines as well. They are dyed Red with the use of an organic vegetable dye which can last for a period of up to 3 years.


RIVER RED COARSE  

Recycled timber mulched to an elongated size of approx. 5 -10 mm thick and 30mm long. They are dyed red with the use of an organic vegetable dye which can last up to 3 years.


BLACK COARSE  

Recycled timber mulched to an elongated size of approx. 5 – 10mm thick and 30mm long. They are dyed black with the use of an organic vegetable dye which can last up to 3 years.


RIVER REDGUM CHIP  

Recycled timber chipped to approx. 15 – 40mm in size and coloured red with the use of an organic vegetable dye which can last up to 3 years.


BLACK FINE  

Recycled timber mulched to an elongated size of approx.. 3 – 6mm thick and 30mm long with a percentage of fines as well. They are dyed Black in colour with the use of an organic vegetable dye which can last up to 3 years.


FOREST MULCH  

Composted, recycled organic mulch. A proper mulch in the true sense that will break down providing nutrients and humus to your soil. Well suited to a natural bush like landscape situation and very good value for dollar. Can also be used as a mulch / compost prior to covering over with an alternate decorative stone or mulch.
