GRANITIC SAND

Screened Granitic sand is ideal for use as a pathway material. Same application methods apply as the other forms of toppings. Granitic sand is often used in council parks and gardens as a pathway topping. Can also be used as a garden bed topping in landscaping applications incorporating drought tolerant plantings as its compacting nature only allows minimal water penetration. Light brown to tan colours with grain size from dust to approx. 3mm.

RIVER PEBBLE 7MM CRUSHED

They will not pack down due to the absence of a fine dust so will remain loose under foot, however the drainage qualities are very good if required. Can also be used as a garden bed topping if suited to a specific style.

CRUSHED ROCK / ROAD BASE / 20mm B GRADE

Crushed from blue metal / basalt rock, this is the most economical material that can be used. Almost always used as a base under concrete to provide a stable level filler. Its plain grey colour and coarse structure is  generally not suited to final use as a pathway  or driveway, however it is a great temporary solution. Particle size ranges from a fine dust to 20 – 25mm.

STONE DUST / CRUSHER DUST / FINES
Although not commonly used as a pathway topping it does have the right qualities in that it will compact very well. A very fine dust through to 3 – 4mm in particle size it is commonly used as a base under synthetic turf. Also used by concretors for kerb and channel concreting applications.
